The black plastic bezel broke off my ignition in my 01 Buick Century and made it very difficult to start. So, I decided to replace it and used this part. It was more work than I anticipated. I had to remove the entire steering wheel, then the cover on the steering column to remove the old ignition cylinder. Then trace the wire down the steering column to where it connects above the gas pedal. So the bottom shroud needs to come off too. After I got it all replaced, the key would turn but not start the car. So I realized I need to have the chip in the key. You will need to take your old key to the dealer so they can read the resistance in the chip (there are different levels). Then take the new keys so they can copy it onto the proper key with the chip. After that it worked perfectly! I'm very pleased. More work than expected, but saved $500 from having the dealer do it. :)
