Great book on rare vehicle.What is covered is good. The title is very misleading. It is NOT pioneering equipment but a description of some swimming cars, and a swimming equipment tractor with swimming trailers. The pioneers had very much more equipment than is covered here.For instance all bridging equipment is not there. Also missing are many other applications such as road maintenance, mine clearing flame throwers and on and on.Probably the most comprehensive book on the subject. Be sure to note the sub-title: "The Amphibious Vehciles." Only the L.W.S. Type is included in this book. It's a rare type -- only 21 were built. This book provides the best description and collection of photos I have ever found for these vehicles.For more information in general on the subject of military vehicles in World War II, including amphibious vehicles, I recommend "World War Two Military Vehicles --Transport & Half -Tracks" by Ware (2007). It covers the trucks used by the major armies of WW II.
